Escola Básica 2/3 de Dairas - Vale de Cambra (Vale de Cambra)
Memória descritiva:
Sensitive to environmental issues, a group of students from the AD class of the 9th year of the school in Dairas, accepted the challenge of elaborating a dance choreography for the lyrics “Polar Bears in beds of roses”.
Sensitive to environmental issues and climate change, the students wanted to participate in this challenge with the “talent” with which they most identify and feel comfortable in communicating these issues about protecting the environment to others. For these students, dance is one of the forms of communication capable of being understood by everyone and, in this case, it becomes a very effective tool to convey an urgent message for the need to change behavior and take actions for the environment. .
Thus, for an activity within the theme of Dance in the discipline of Physical Education, they analyzed the lyrics and music mentioned above, shared ideas and "built" a choreography that they presented to the class. In this presentation, they did not fail to explain to colleagues the results of the research carried out on the concepts of the lyrics of the song and on its message.
In this way, between gestures and steps, they tried to compose a sign that would express the message of the lyrics.
The final result expresses the energy and concern of the students in the commitment that we can and must be able to "turn around" environmental issues and act with civic awareness in favor of a healthier world, capable of welcoming everyone in harmony.
As the refrain says: Earth is your home, please don't leave it in the state you found it! This is the way we walk/act on Earth because we know what it's worth.
