É docente na Escola Superior de Comunicação Social do Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa (ESCS/IPL) onde coordena o Departamento de Estatística e do Programa Eco-Escolas. Trabalha na área das Estatísticas Oficiais, Literacia de Dados, Publicidade e Marketing, Educação e promove a sustentabilidade institucional. |

Sofia Edra Quaresma
Bióloga – Ramos Científico e Educacional pela Universidade de Coimbra e Mestre em Biologia da Conservação pela Universidade de Lisboa. Desde 2020, é Técnica Superior – Bióloga – no ICNF – Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas, I.P. na Direção Regional de Conservação da Natureza e Florestas – Lisboa e Vale do Tejo, estando afeta ao Parque Natural das Serras de Aire e Candeeiros. Foi Técnica Superior- Bióloga na Câmara Municipal de Alcobaça (2003-2018) e Chefe de Divisão de Ambiente e Saúde na Câmara Municipal de Leiria (2018-2020). Sócia-fundadora da Associação Portuguesa de Lixo Marinho, integra a Direção Regional Norte da Ordem dos Biólogos e foi Membro da Direção da ONGA-OIKOS-Leiria. Publicou 4 livros infantis sobre Biodiversidade e Conservação. É mãe da Maria Rita e do João Francisco. |

Maria Margarida de Carvalho Gomes Geógrafa, com Estudos Avançados em Território, Ambiente e Desenvolvimento Sustentável (IGOT, NOVA-FCT). Exerceu funções docentes no ensino secundário entre 1982 e 2000, período durante o qual dinamizou diversos projetos e núcleos de ambiente em contexto escolar. Foi igualmente autora de programas curriculares e de manuais didáticos para o ensino secundário. Desde 2000 coordena programas de educação ambiental para a sustentabilidade na Associação Bandeira Azul de Ambiente e Educação (ABAAE), dirigidos à comunidade escolar, ao público em geral e às comunidades locais, nomeadamente os Programas Eco-Escolas, Jovens Repórteres para o Ambiente e, mais recentemente, o Eco-Campus. É autora e coordenadora de programas orientados para a sustentabilidade local, com especial enfoque nas autarquias, destacando-se o ECOXXI (desde 2004) e o Eco-Freguesias XXI (desde 2015). Exerce igualmente atividade como formadora nas áreas da Educação para a Sustentabilidade e da Geografia. Foi distinguida com o projeto Eco-Freguesias XXI no Concurso Ideias Verdes 2009, promovido pelo jornal Expresso, e com o projeto Brigada Verde na Comunidade, que obteve o 3.º lugar no prémio Terre de Femmes 2013. |

Dr Ian Humphreys has spent 30+ years in the environmental NGO sector, over half of which was as Chief Executive at Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful (KNIB). Prior to this Ian was a Research Fellow at The Queen’s University of Belfast working in agricultural zoology and forestry. He currently works at Buglife as the Senior Conservation Officer in Northern Ireland.
Whilst at KNIB, Ian’s desire to progress environmental education and youth leadership ensured every school in Northern Ireland was registered with the international Eco-Schools programme. Supported by diverse delivery partners, this reflected Ian’s belief that only by working together can real change be achieved. Whilst much of Ian’s work focused on youth and community engagement, he also advocated for systemic change. Working with Northern Ireland’s Department for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs, he initiated climate and outdoor education training for teachers, and worked with the Department for Education and the Council for the Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment to strengthen urgently needed climate education across the curriculum. Ian also established 30 Under 30 Climate Change Makers, a country-based version of NAAEE’s EE 30 Under 30 youth leadership development programme. As a Board member (since 2008) and Vice President for the Foundation for Environmental Education Ian has responsibility for the Education programmes, including Eco-Schools and working towards the UN’s Greening Education Partnership targets. He also sits on the Advisory Group for the Global Environmental Education Partnership. Previous roles include 12 years on the Board of Northern Ireland Environment Link and as a member of the Leadership Council of the All-Island Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Ireland. Ian is a keen ornithologist, licensed ringer/bander and volunteer at Copeland Bird Observatory. |
