Prof Paul PACE, B.Ed. (Hons.), M.Ed., Ph.D. (Bradford), is the Director of Centre for Environmental Education & Research and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education. He has been active in environmental education as chairperson of Malta’s National Environmental Education Strategy, founder of the Malta Association of Environmental Educators and as a researcher at the Faculty of Education, University of Malta where he is a full time associate professor in environmental education and science education. Appointed EkoSkola National Co-ordinator for Nature Trust (Malta) and the GLOBE (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment) Programme National Co-ordinator, he was also a member in the National Commission for Sustainable Development, the National Climate Change Committee and is the vice-chairperson of the Interdiocesan Commission for the Environment of the Maltese Archdiocese. He was involved in several local and foreign projects aimed at the development of curriculum material for environmental education and science. He works actively with teachers in the implementation of environmental and science school policies. A former teacher of biology, he was involved in several science examination boards and was a member on the National Curriculum Framework Review committee and the National Science Strategy committee.
